PORTLAND, OR — The newly certified Graduate Employees Union, AFT-AAUP (GEU), representing nearly 800 graduate workers at Portland State University, has formally requested to Board Chair Pete Nickerson that the university include a representative from the union on the search committee to replace departing president Wim Wiewel.

PSI embraces educational support staff

Members of AFT's PSRP division and AFT Secretary-Treasurer Lorretta Johnson joined Public Services International, the global public service workers union, to help kick off its new endeavor, the Educational Support and Cultural Workers Network, at its founding meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
