The Oregon Legislature just completed its 2022 short session by passing outstanding new bills to help AFT-Oregon’s members. Below are summaries of some of the most important legislation. MORE

During their November 2021 meeting, the AFT-Oregon Executive Council, on the recommendation of the Political and Legislative Action Committee (PLAC), made the following endorsements.  We endorse the efforts of PCUN to pass legislation for Farmworker Overtime (FOT) Pay. California and Washington have already passed FOT legislation and it’s time for Oregon to end the unfair and racist exclusion of farmworkers from overtime pay. MORE

Oregon’s 2021 Legislative Session ended this week with historic achievements for all of AFT-Oregon’s members. We accomplished this by flooding our legislators with emails and phone calls, by testifying before committees, and through our intensive lobbying efforts.

Each election, the AFT-Oregon’s Political and Legislative Action Committee (PLAC) reviews the candidates running for Oregon offices. If a candidate demonstrates the values and goals of our members, then they may earn our recommendation.

Below you will find our current list of endorsed candidates. These decisions came about over countless hours of examining questionnaires and conducting dozens of interviews. There were no easy decisions, as all candidates came to us with good ideas, skills, and experiences.
