AFT-Oregon is seeking a full-time field representative. Field representatives are responsible for assisting, advising, and training local leaders and activists in building a strong union. Responsibilities include developing issues-based organizing plans, building worksite leader systems, member organizing, negotiating bargaining agreements, handling grievance processes, political activation and education, and leadership development.The ideal candidate will have three or more years of demonstrated experience organizing and bargaining with public higher education faculty. The position is based in Portland but will require regular travel to Eugene, Corvallis, and other locations around the state. The primary locals will be based at University of Oregon, Oregon State University, and SW Oregon Community College in Coos Bay.
