AFT-Oregon is seeking a full-time Political Organizer (hybrid work based in Oregon). 

This position requires travel throughout the state to visit union locals, and frequent work travel and extended work periods in Salem during legislative sessions.

The Political Organizer is responsible for nurturing and advancing AFT-Oregon’s political goals and legislative advocacy to benefit K12, Early Childhood, Community College, and Public University workforces; and for collaborating with AFT-Oregon’s elected leadership to create and implement state-wide organizing and political goals.

AFT-Oregon is seeking a full-time Field Organizer (hybrid work based in Oregon). 

The Field Organizer is responsible for supporting local unions with creating organizing plans, nurturing members' leadership capacity and increasing membership density; and for collaborating with AFT-Oregon’s elected leadership to create and implement state-wide organizing goals.

AFT-Oregon’s Member Organizer Institute is an intensive, paid training program for new and emerging leaders interested in learning about building union strength through organizing. Over the course of 10-11 weeks, trainees in this program will attend some classroom sessions that will focus on developing and strengthening leadership skills relating to potential member outreach and member mobilization. In addition, most of their work will consist of real life experience in the field practice of those skills through contacting potential members and current members about current union issues and campaigns.
